Tang Soo Do

Just this week, Micah and Julia both started Tang Soo Do. They go 3-4 times a week. So far they have just had 2 lessons, and they LOVE it! Micah is doing SO great! He is focused for the entire class (if you know Micah, you know this is almost unheard of!). He excels at what they teach him and he is eager to learn more. Julia is really enjoying it - after the first 20 minutes of being in the Karate studio. The 2 times we have been there she has a little stare down with the Grandmaster over bowing, or saying what he asks her to. After that first little obstacle, she is great the rest of the class. She pays attention and tries her hardest. Tang Soo Do is going to be so great for the both of them!

Thousand Oaks Sheriff Station

Last week Julia's preschool class went to the Thousand Oaks Sheriffs station. They got to go on a tour of the entire station. Julia's favorite parts were talking on the visitation telephones, going through the police car and putting on the riot gear.

Imagymnation!

Last week Julia's class got to go to Imagymnation. It is a gymnastics play area. We had never been there before, and Julia had a great time! She got to jump, run, swing and play!

Veggie Tales!

Every Friday Julia's preschool class goes on a field trip. A couple of weeks ago (I am a couple weeks behind in posting - the school year has begun, which makes my life crazy!) her class went to Underwood Family Farms to pick their own veggies! Julia loves Underwood and was SO excited to be going again. All the kids got to take a tractor ride out to the fields, where they picked lettuce, tomatoes, peppers and squash. After the veggie picking, Julia got to play on the rest of the farm where they have train rides, pony rides, bounce houses and farm animals. She had such a fun morning/afternoon and can't wait to go back!

Second year of preschool!

Yesterday Julia started her second year of preschool! This year she will be in school 5 days a week from 9:00am until 12:00pm. Last year she just did two half days, so this year will be a change for her. I think she is really going to like it. Yesterday was her introduction into the class. She got to go for about an hour to just meet her teacher (who is SO very nice) and play in the room for a little while. She was a little shy, but she really loved the classroom and can't wait to play on the playground and go on her field trips.

Before preschool starts

After dropping Micah off at school, we had some time to kill before Julia had to be at preschool, so we went for some coffee!

First Day Of Second Grade!

Today was Micah's first day back to school! He started second grade today! I just don't know where the time has gone! He is getting so big, so fast. He wasn't terribly thrilled to start school today - but he was excited to wear his new shoes!
